This is the land of Middle-Earth. Somewhere in the Shire, a town called Hobbiton, an innocent young hobbit named Frodo... Frodo's uncle, Bilbo Baggins, is taking a long-needed vacation; one that he has no intention of returning from. In Bilbo's possession is a magical ring, one that has the ability to make the wearer invisible... but you can't judge a book by its cover. This ring was forged by the evil Sauron to control the wearers of several others. An heir to the throne of Gondor, Isildur, destroyed Sauron one thousand years ago. But Sauron is reawakening. The wizard Gandalf forces Bilbo to leave the ring at home, which will then be given to Frodo. Frodo has no idea of what he'll be getting into. Gandalf delivers the ring to Frodo, and tells him the story of Sauron, Mordor, and the great battle at which Sauron fell... Frodo is scared, but he knows he must go. He must go deliver the ring to Mt. Doom in the middle of the land of Mordor, where it was forged, to destroy it once and for all. ~Linus |
