On October 3rd, 1993, Delta Force soldiers and Army Rangers are dropped into Mogadishu, Somalia. Their objective is to capture two of the local crime lord Mohamid Farah Aidid's top lieutenants. Things are going as planned, and the team is ready for extraction. When suddenly one of the Black Hawks is shot down. The team is told not to leave any man behind, dead or alive. A small team goes in to secure the site, and to wait for backup. They wait to long. They are being surrounded. Meanwhile another Black Hawk is shot down. It is total chaos. The UN is informed that the US has gone in without permission, and needs assistance. Battle goes on throughout the night (fifteen hours) while the UN gets troops together. Many soldiers don't make it through the night. Finally the next day, the UN is able to come and assist. ~Woodstock |

This thing's a freakin' bullet magnet! One more thing I'd like to comment on that's not the movie's fault. Do not send HMMWVs into a city full of angry people with AKs, got it?! APCs, tanks, or don't send anything at all, all right?! I'm talking to you, Pentagon! |
